I am about to embark on an incredible adventure and I am so excited for it! I am literally in the car on the way to the airport as I write this. My bags are packed my tickets printed, and everything is finally coming together. But wow has it been an adventure getting to this point.
I remember 5+ years ago sitting in middle school thinking about how much I wanted to travel. How much I wanted to just see everything everywhere even though that’s impossible. I remember when I convinced my parents to buy me a map of the world. I put white pins on places I’d been, and red on places I had always dreamed to explore. I also remember my funny and ambitious high school self putting one of those pins on the bottom of the map where it said “the world”. Wow kids those days haha.
Last year I started my first year of college at Northern Arizona University. During the first month of classes I remember there was a study abroad fair right outside when I was walking past the union. I had always dreamed of studying abroad, but financially it didn’t really seem like a solid option. I decided that it was worth it to give it a shot though and decided to set up an appointment with an advisor. When I talked to her and realized that it was actually a viable option because my scholarships would transfer over, I practically skipped home excited to embark on a once in a lifetime adventure. After months of trying to figure out where to go I finally decided on Sevilla, Spain.
So wish me luck as I embark on this adventure literally across the world, where I don’t quite know the language, culture, or really anyone within probably a couple thousand miles… 😊 Honestly I am so excited for a fresh start with new adventures, places, and people!
